The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary (圣母圣诞堂) is Hougang''s oldest place of worship. Address 1259 Upper Serangoon Road, Singapore 534795. Gazetted as a National Monument in 2005. The present Neo-Gothic building was blessed on 8 December 1901. Side transepts were added in 1933. NHB records daily English Mass, plus Sunday Mass in Teochew and Mandarin. This is still the only Catholic parish in Singapore that offers Teochew Mass. Korean Mass is also celebrated here. Confirm times with the parish. Do not treat a service as a photo op. The marble statue of Mary at the entrance was a gift from Sultan Ibrahim of Johor. CHIJ Our Lady of the Nativity sits next door. Feast of the Nativity of Mary is 8 September. Hougang or Kovan MRT, then Upper Serangoon Road. This is a church. Do not type it as a mall.
